The Lesotho Water and Sewerage Company (WASCO) invite applications from suitably qualified Local Candidates for the following position:
Job Manager Engineering Design
Reports to: Director Enterprise Projects Management
Purpose of the Role:
To carry out in-house projects designs in accordance to WASCO Design Guidelines and International Standards and ensure that implementation is done according to designs and specification.
Key Tasks:
- Manage and supervise engineering designs
- Monitor progress of ongoing projects to ensure adherence to schedule, designs and financial disbursements.
- Raise variation orders, interim, completion and maintenance certificates.
40 Evaluate proposals and expressions of interest (EOI) from consultants.
- Evaluate bids submitted by contractors.
6, Coordinate statutory requirements of projects.
- Assist in the preparation of terms of reference, request for proposals and contracts for projects.
- Review and approve surveyed routes and cost estimates for new water and sewerage service connections.
9, Coordinate with Public Relations Office for inquiries regarding applications for new water and sewerage connections and other water supply related services provided by WASCO.
- Ensure that proposed buildings are clear of WASCO services as submitted in building permit applications,
- Ensure that as -built drawings and operations and maintenance manuals are produced and submitted to planning and operations sections.
- Identify, manage and prepare section staff development plans.
- Prepare monthly and other reports related to engineering design aspects.
- Prepare and manage annual business plan (ABP) operating and capital financial budgets for the section

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent 5 years’ experience in managerial role
