Role Purpose
The Ecosystems and Product Development Manager acts as a business owner for all new and improved products within the M-Pesa Eco-System. The role entails the transition of business needs into working technology products.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for negotiation of commercial terms for new product lines with prospective suppliers
Ensure products are deployed in a cost-effective manner & that there is no duplication of efforts.
Identify products which are already in place & can be enhanced in order to fulfil different business needs thereby reducing required effort or resource intensity
Chair monthly M-Pesa Product steering committee
Provide support for testing teams to ensure that testing is carried out effectively & efficiently.
Track product growth and evolution
Competencies
Prototype assessment & usability review for products.
High level understanding of network/product architectures in order to advise business teams on the feasibility of their requirements.
For any given product, understand which systems are involved as well as the interaction between each element.
Qualifications And Experience
Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or relevant tertiary qualification
3 Years’ experience in Telecommunications or Banking/ Insurance sectors at Managerial level
