Reporting to the Executive Head of External Affairs, the purpose of the role is to

  •  Manage all strategic communication requirements to support internal operational objectives, promote a positive reputation with all stakeholder groups and demonstrate Vodacom Lesotho’s commitment to fulfilling its stated purpose.
  • Establish and implement a comprehensive external communications service to deliver the company’s strategic message and provide all employees and external stakeholders with regular, meaningful and consistent information about activities across the company, so creating a sense of shared purpose that is relevant to the working lives of all employees.

Job Responsibility

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking organizational Communications Plan in line with the Vodacom Lesotho’s overall strategic plan, and stakeholder and community plans;
  • Create and establish the department strategy with excellence from planning to execution. Ability to create and manage major internal communications projects and efforts ranging from corporate narrative to crisis communications to community impact.
  • Influence a broad set of key audiences and perceptions, so our stakeholders recognize the brand as an innovative telecoms technology leader and partner for digital transformation.
  • Work with key influencers including print, online, broadcast and social media; government representatives, subject matter experts, and others.
  • Define and articulate Vodacom Lesotho’s values, message and branding to our audiences, and media. Pitch and place Vodacom Lesotho’s stories, proactively and purposefully using a range of traditional and new media across local, regional, national and global audiences.
  • Build relationships with multiple stakeholders across the public and private sector, media, associations and clients. Manage communications to a broad range of stakeholders, including local communities and government to support continued operation and manage reputational risks;

Requirements

  • Appropriate degree in Communications/ Marketing
  • Experience in a communications team for a large organization
  •  Experience in telecommunications is advantageous
