JOB TITLE: MANAGER CHILD SURVIVAL

RESPONSIBLE TO: DIRECTOR HEALTH CARE

GRADE: I

DEPARTMENT: FAMILY HEALTH DIVISION

JOB SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Director Primary Health Care the incumbent will plan, organize, coordinate, and ensure implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Child Survival programs.

MAIN DUTIES

  1. DEVELOPMENT OF IMMUNIZATION POLICIES/STRATEGIES
    1. To support strategic plan for development, design, and management of Child Survival development programs.
    1. To ensure that all child survival programs are aligned with UNICEF protocols.
    1. To work closely and collaborate with internal and external partners to discuss strategies and methodologies to determine national priorities
    1. To prepare monitoring and evaluation reports to identify gaps, strengthens and weaknesses in program management for timely interventions to achieve goals.
    1. To lead emergency preparedness initiatives program and contingencies and to respond to emergencies in the country.
    1. To oversee Expanded Immunization Program (PI) aligned with UN protocols and ministerial policies and guidelines.
    1. Submitting annual, quarterly, monthly, or any other regular reports as required by Health Management Information System (HMIS)
    1. Analyse incoming immunization coverage and surveillance data and make decisions on programmatic issues
    1. Act as technical advisor to the Ministry of Health on resources, recruitment and deployment of staff working in immunization programs.
    1. Ensure day to day administration of child survival Programs.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Degree in Public health plus three (3) years relevant experience in managerial position

OR

Degree in public Health plus five (5) years’ relevant experience in a managerial position.
