We are looking for a Manager: Asset Management to lead and manage the development, recommendations and implementation of strategies that improve equipment reliability and processes based on FMEA and other reliability methodologies. Focus will be to maximize equipment life time, optimize life cycle costs and enhance equipment availability to achieve production by owning and leading the Reliability and Asset Management team.

Reporting to the General Manager Technical and Asset Management and working in a challenging and exciting environment within the Reliability and Asset Management team, you will be:

  • Develop, recommend and implement strategies for the improvement of maintenance effectiveness and ensure maintenance is completed to plans and schedules.
  • Drive and actively participate in the development and continuous improvement of the Asset Management program, by reviewing operational asset management plans.
  • Manage and support the specialist teams for Defect Elimination, Asset Management, Condition Monitoring and technical training department by providing specialist maintenance management and defect elimination advice.
  • Implement the defect elimination strategy and ensure the implementation of actions through a structured process.
  • Coach and support the reliability engineers on the DE process.
  • Develop follow and improve the 5-year plan on asset management in line with capital expenditure including all categories of assets across the business.
  • Supervise and control the activities, standards of performance and behaviour of designated support staff.
  • Provide guidance and leadership and enable team to carry out tasks safely and professionally.
  • Ensure that staff training, and development needs are identified, and technical skills imparted to facilitate optimal functioning.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team (standard for all job adverts)
  • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field, or Equivalent Engineering qualifications with related experience.
  • Formal training in Asset Management and Reliability Principles – advantageous
  • EB driver’s license.
  • Training: Exposure to and application of the following disciplines will be preferred:
  • Reliability Centred Management (RCM)
  • Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Condition based / predictive maintenance – CBM (vibration, tribology, infrared, ultrasonic, etc.)
  • Business Improvement Techniques (Lean / Six Sigma)
  • Leadership and Team management
  • Asset management principles and implementation
  • Change management / stakeholder management
  • At least 5 years extensive technical knowledge/experience in reliability/asset management focused positions
  • Relevant management experience of technical team
  • Relevant strategic planning experience
  • Experience with complex problem identification, solution development and action implementation.
  • Experience in advancing modern asset management philosophies/programs.
