Job Purpose
To perform financial analysis on business data in order to leverage and communicate effectively with stakeholders, so as to add value to the business’s financial management strategy.
Job Responsibilities
- Drive financial performance through the delivery of insightful management reporting, financial analysis, and rigorous cost management practices
- Translate the Bank’s three- year strategic plan into annual budgets and rolling forecasts,ensuring that financial plans remain aligned with strategic objectives and reflect changes in the macro economic environment.
- Identify business problems by analysing data and reports from various sources.
- Contribute to building of intellectual capital of the team by sharing information; knowledge and experience with all stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
- Understand impact of scenarios or changes on the business by developing analytical tools
- Identify opportunities to improve or enhance processes by identifying and recommending improvements to tools; policies and procedures to add value to Nedbank.
- Provide meaningful recommendations, explanations and highlights of concerns or anomalies by analysing and interrogating financial information.
- Deliver world class quality reports aligned to requirements within turnaround times by diarizing; planning and prioritizing work appropriately.
- Contribute Business Unit cost saving strategy by adhering to the costs allocations per person.
- Support operational units by providing solutions that contribute to efficiency gains.
- Ensure work is completed on time by adhering to the deadlines as per the Service Level Agreements (SLA)
- Provide support to business decisions by giving analytical and technical input into the management and stakeholder packs.
- Decipher data for improvement possibilities by collecting; analyzing data and establishing trends or patterns and identify possible solutions.
- Ensure that financial business analysis is conducted in line with the set standards.
- Keep abreast of legislation and other industry changes that impacts on role by reading the relevant newsletters; websites and attending sessions.
Preferred Qualification
General Accountant /Post-graduate Degree/Diploma in Financial Management/Accounting/
Chartered Accountant (ACCA) or Certified Management Accountant (CIMA) will be an added advantage
Preferred Certifications
Member of Lesotho Institute of Accountants
Minimum Experience Level
2-3 years experience in Management Accounting & Financial Reporting environment or 3-6 years experience in Financial Services Environment
