Duties

Performs a variety of administrative and office management tasks.  The incumbent is the sole Management Assistant and has responsibility for supporting the day-to-day operation of the Management office, including: drafting letters, telegrams, memoranda, diplomatic notes and reports (to include Employee Evaluation Reports); proofreading and editing all correspondence and materials to ensure proper format, accuracy and compliance with regulations; escorting visitors. Maintains close liaison with the Financial Management section, Regional Security Office, and Human Resource Office. Serves as backup consular assistant, and provides backup administrative support to other sections, as needed.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE: At least two years of secretarial/office management work experience is required. .
Education Requirements:

Mandatory: Include the required education level from section 15 of the PD.  Optional: For positions requiring a Bachelor’s Degrees, it is optional to list the degree major unless the position is highly specialized (i.e. doctor, nurse, engineer).

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Mandatory:  Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Solid experience with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word).  Minimum typing of 30 words per minute. Must be able to establish and maintain good working contacts with various offices within the Mission. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills and ability to deal effectively with a diverse range of internal and external customers;

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
