Mnandilicious Catering invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Male Chef to join our dedicated culinary team.
Job Purpose
To prepare and present high-quality meals in accordance with company standards, ensuring excellent taste, consistency, and compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Prepare and cook meals according to company menus and customer requirements
- Ensure consistency, quality, and excellent presentation of all dishes
- Assist in menu planning, portion control, and cost management
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen
- Adhere to food safety policies and hygiene standards at all times
- Properly handle and store ingredients to prevent contamination or spoilage
Operational Support
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages in advance
- Support in receiving and inspecting deliveries for food quality and accuracy
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate or Diploma in Professional Cookery/Culinary Arts (or equivalent qualification)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Chef in a catering or hospitality environment
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and within a team setting
Skills and Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and passion for quality food
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Team player with good communication and interpersonal abilities
- Creativity and adaptability in meal preparation
