Maintenance Technician
Job Description/Purpose PURPOSE:
To provide essential support to the offshore production team by conducting structural maintenance and repairs on all offshore structures. This includes, but is not limited to, jetty, boats, and cages. This role is critical to ensure the continued efficiency and performance of the company’s production operations.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Conduct regular inspections to assess the structural integrity of jetty, boats, cages, and other offshore assets, addressing vulnerabilities promptly
Assists grow out team leaders in understanding the proper operation and maintenance of offshore structures to ensure that they can perform their work properly and prevent unnecessary failures Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, ensuring minimal impact on production and safety Display experience with tools and machinery required to complete the offshore repair and maintenance work required
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations to maintain a safe working environment Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities. including repairs, inspections, and safety checks, for compliance and future reference Train and mentor team members (offshore staff) in technical maintenance procedures to ensure skill development and operational efficiency
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Certificate in fitting and turning/ welding
Advantageous for minor electrical troubleshooting on offshore assets
Practical experience with tools and equipment for offshore repair work
At least 2 years’ experience in structural role
Proven ability to work as part of a bigger team
Team player and good communicator.
Skills competencies & requirements
Valid Driver’s license
Innovative, inventive, and analytical, able to pre-empt. resolve problems and compliance conscious
Ability to schedule work and activities
Deadline focused
Good record keeping and planning skills and attention to detail and computer literate
Proven record of ability to manage time and work to strict deadlines
Willing to work during weekends and longer hours when required
Fluency in English, written and spoken, driving continuous improvement
