Maintenance Assistant

Job Summary
The primary role of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor with all maintenance and calibration-related activities at MG Health.
The Maintenance Assistant ensures the management of schedules and implementation of all activities related to Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), breakdowns, and general upkeep of the manufacturing facility at MG Health Limited.
The Maintenance Assistant will work with the Quality Assurance Department, Production Department, Validation Department, and R&D Department to ensure all critical components are calibrated and inspected as per the calibration schedule.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Supervisor and oversee the following:
- All maintenance functions at the MG Health manufacturing site.
- Ensure all maintenance processes adhere to the workflows set out in the relevant SOPs.
- Ensure all maintenance-related documentation adheres to GMP guidelines and MG Health’s Quality Manual (QM).
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in a timely manner as per the maintenance schedule.
2. Ensure that:
- Technical advice is provided to the Production Department.
- All equipment/facility breakdowns are attended to and problems rectified.
- Implementation and management of the PPM schedule for utilities and plant equipment is in place and maintained.
- All HVAC and other facility/utilities qualifications are in place and maintained.
- Annual re-calibration of key equipment is conducted.
- The maintenance environment at MG Health allows for a conducive work environment.
- The Equipment Register is kept up to date.
- All maintenance contractors are managed and liaised with while on-site, ensuring that they are constantly under supervision.
- Spare parts are procured and managed in a timely manner.
3. Communicate:
- All deviations and other issues to the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager. If they are not available, communicate any issues to the Production Manager or the Engineering Manager.
4. Monitor:
- HVAC/Utilities performance.
- Calibrations.
- Planned Preventative Maintenance schedule.
5. Perform any other reasonable duty as requested by top management from time to time by the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager or Engineering Manager, in consultation with the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager.

- Equipment efficiency.
Safety and Compliance
- Safety incidents versus safety reports.

- Adherence to GMP policies, SOPs, and WIs.
Asset Performance
- Utilizing the maintenance function to increase profits, i.e., time to repair and time between failures.
Downtime Reduction
- Percentage of planned versus emergency maintenance measures.
- Machine downtime compared to operating time.
Work Order Management
- Work orders being processed with good quality of work.
- Adherence to PPM and calibration schedules.
Spare Parts Management
- Spare parts in inventory versus spare parts procured.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Qualifications:
- Relevant Diploma/Certificate.
- Technical qualification.
Skills:
- Self-Starter: Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Communication: Good, clear communication.
- Problem Solving: Effective problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to equipment issues, breakdowns, and required modifications.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to identify potential errors or possible deviations before they occur.
- Result Oriented: Ability to meet set deadlines.
- Teamwork: Ability to work as a unit for the benefit of the department and the company.
