Machineman Tissue ( P11 )
Sappi Southern Africa Stanger Mill requires a Machineman Tissue to ensure the efficient operation of the tissue machine in order to achieve maximum productivity and ensure optimum quality is achieved in a safe manner
The main responsibilities of this job are:
Plant Operation
- Ensure that all production goals and standards are met
- Carries out machine start-ups, shut downs, grade changes and tail threading
- Monitor chemical, fibre and consumable stock on the machine floor and liaise with the foreman and internal suppliers
- Effective communication with both the machine and winder crew to ensure good quality of product
- Operate the crane and forklift safely
- Participates in shut duties – clothing change, housekeeping, etc. as required by the foreman
- Write a shift report at the end of each shift in the machineman log sheet
- Complete work permits
- Isolate equipment on shuts and breakdowns
- Conduct effective walkabouts
- Diligently carries out other duties as requested by the foreman
- Proper shift hand overs
- Coaching of team members on machine
- Function as team leader of the operators when required – delegate tasks during normal operation and shuts
Systems
- Matric + Full N3 Pulp & Paper or NQF Level 4 Paper Board
- At least three years relevant paper manufacturing experience
- Fork Lift and Crane License
- Computer Literacy
