Prize

The top 3 logos will be awarded prizes as follows:

1st Prize- Five Thousand Maloti (M5 000).

2nd Prize-Three Thousand Maloti (M3 000).

3rd Prize – One Thousand and Five Hundred Maloti (M1 500).

The Government of Lesotho has received a loan from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank to implement the of Lesotho Competitiveness and Financial Inclusion (CAFI) Project. The Project Development Objective (PDO) is to “increase access to business support services and financial products targeted at MSMEs and entrepreneurs, especially women and youth”.

The Project Management Unit (PMU) for the CAFI Project is holding a competition open to innovative youth who can design a logo for the Project. The contestants will be expected to design a logo with a unique brand image that reflects the project development objective.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, Business Development and Tourism through the PMU now invites all local youth aged 18-35 years as individuals or firms to enter for the competition. The winner of the competition shall be required to submit the logo design in an editable and open file format;

The logo should also be usable on the web page, social media platforms such as Twitter or Facebook and on printed material such as black and white press releases, stationery and signages

2. Intellectual Property Rights: By submitting a design to this competition, the designer(s) is accepting these Terms and Conditions. They further agree that if their entry is selected as the winning entry, they are assigning

their entire right in their design to CAFI and they will not be entitled to receive any royalties or other consideration, now or in the future, for such assignment other than the contest prize. In such case, CAFI will own the design and will have the exclusive right to use the design on a worldwide and exclusive basis. If the contestant is not selected as the winner, ownership of their design and all intellectual property rights in such design will be returned to them. Entries must entirely be contestants’

original work and must not breach or be in violation of any copyright or other rights of third parties. CAFI maintains the right to further develop the design to suit its brand.

Selection Criteria: Submitted logos must be aligned with the objective of the project and have a brand recognition potential. The logo design should also exhibit originality, creativity and innovation. Three finalists will be chosen through a youth-led review process based on comprehensive design criteria mentioned in the Terms of Reference for this logo design

Competition; and the decision of CAFI management in selecting the winner shall be treated as final and binding to all the participants.

SUBMISSION DETAILS:

Proposals must be delivered in a written form, in sealed envelopes labelled

“LOGO DESIGN COMPETITION FOR CAFI PROJECT ” with the name of the individual/firm on the reverse side of the envelope, to the address below in person or by mail by Friday, 10th February 2023 at 16h30.
