The position requires working collaboratively with project managers, supply chain staff, vendors, finance, and the receiving department to support fluidity of the supply chain on projects, ensure all goods and services are delivered on-time/in full to meet schedules and exceed customer’s expectations. This position will concentrate on project buying and ensuring ordered goods are delivered on time and in location. The position will require advanced knowledge and experience with industrial suppliers, project installations and logistics control on high-dollar, complex projects with detailed terms and conditions.

  • Be an active member of the project management team to ensure all objectives are accomplished

  • Identify project buying needs over multiple projects and actively look for cost savings opportunities

  • Secure best price, quality, and delivery with suppliers

  • Analyzing and optimizing logistical procedures within the projects environment and streamlining the buying of purchased items over multiple projects

  • Reviewing purchase requisitions, preparing, and routing purchase orders.

  • See purchased items through the process to ensure on-time pickup and delivery

  • Purchase high value and high-risk goods and services

  • Coordinate purchases, shipments, and deliveries for all projects by maintaining accurate tracking across multiple projects

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders

  • Execute transactions as part of the Procure-to-Pay Process

  • Resolve all issues with delivery, pricing, and supplier invoicing

  • Actively utilize organizational, problem solving, multi-tasking and decision-making skills to ensure all projects stay on schedule and deadlines are met.

  • Adhere to process driven practices

  • Facilitate packing lists and co-ordinate external and internal resources involved with projects receiving and dispatch

  • Prepare documentation throughout the buying phase to enable faster logistics and shipping inspections

  • Inspect Shipments prior to dispatch and ensure that all items are packed safely and documentation In order

  • Ensuring health and safety standards are met throughout the chain of the whole logistics process.

  • Perform admin related tasks surrounding project buying and logistics as and when required.

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a Logistics, Technical Procurement, or similar field.

  • Ability to understand and support a project schedule.

  • Experience with writing contracts and detailed purchase orders

  • Know-how of equipment and items in the engineering and industrial field.

  • Strong relationship building and negotiation skills

  • High level communication skills with vendors and stakeholders via email, telephone and in person

  • Excellent customer service, time management, and team collaboration skills

  • Possess advanced problem-solving skills

  • Keyboard/data entry skills are necessary. MS Excel, Axapta (Imax), MS Office, would be an asset.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and quality related documents is a plus

Ideal candidate must be detail oriented good at multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, able to maintain a busy desk with many various tasks at once including interruptions, self-motivated and have a willingness and attitude to work beyond the job description and normal working hours if necessary.

Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team setting as well as independently with the ability to take the lead and ownership of tasks.

Must possess excellent English language communication skills both verbal and written.

Some travel may be required as required.
