POSITION: DRIVER / LOGISTICS ASSISTANT
Job Summary
The Driver / Logistics Assistant provides safe, reliable, and efficient driving and logistical support to AHF Lesotho operations. The role supports transportation of staff, medical supplies, program materials, and official documents, while ensuring vehicle safety, compliance with organizational policies, and adherence to road regulations.
The position also provides logistical and administrative support to the Operations Department to ensure smooth daily operations and timely program implementation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport guests to and from the airport and provide welcome briefings
- Maintain safety standards during transportation of laboratory specimens and medicines
- Transport specimens from AHF ART Clinic to the National Reference Laboratory (NRL)
- Transport laboratory results from NRL to clinics confidentially and on time
- Transport staff and partners to HTS outreach sites across all 10 districts (including overnight field stays)
- Maintain vehicle logbooks, fuel requests, and mileage records
- Ensure only authorized drivers operate AHF vehicles
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness (daily interior cleaning; car wash at least twice weekly)
- Ensure vehicle is mechanically sound (oil, water checks) and submit weekly logs
- Report repair needs and coordinate replacements with Operations Officer
- Ensure vehicle security and valid licensing at all times
- Comply fully with Lesotho traffic rules and road safety regulations
- Strictly observe no‑alcohol, no‑smoking, and no‑phone‑use‑while‑driving policies
- Support transportation of critically ill patients when required
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor
Education and Experience
- COSC / Form E
- Valid Driver’s Licence (minimum Code 10) held for at least 5 years
- Minimum 5 years uninterrupted driving experience
- Ability to read and write English and interpret correspondence
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to respond to customer inquiries professionally
- Ability to work under pressure and after hours
