JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS AND TECHNICAL MANAGER

GRADE: I

SALARY SCALE: M287,880.00 – M295,080.00 Per Annum

REPORT TO: DIRECTOR OF ELECTIONS

LOCATION: MASERU

JOB SUMMARY:

The Logistics and Technical Manager will direct, coordinate and plan process mapping and distribution of materials within the entire IEC.

Key responsibilities

  • Advise management on election material and related logistical arrangements.
  • Develop logistics plan for the entire IEC.
  • Develop and implement an efficient distribution system/plan to support election and IEC operations.
  • Ensure that material allocation and distribution plans are in place.
  • Oversee the planned maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment including inventory management.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Advise management on election materials to ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness.
  2. Ensure effective storage of electoral materials, maintain a comprehensive catalogue of approved materials and facilitate the development of an IT supported system of stock control and inventory/warehouse management
  3. Develop and implement an efficient system and protocol to enhance efficient distribution and accountability of election materials and information while avoiding over procurement.
  4. Establish quality control mechanisms for purchased election materials.
  5. Schedules employees, truck drivers, arranging drop offs and deliveries and scheduling loading dock use of mechanized equipment such as forklifts.
  6. Ensures that all appropriate safety regulations are being followed both with regards to personal safety and safety of inventory across all IEC storage units.
  7. Meets with department/section heads to determine their needs for warehouse space, entering into storage contracts and entering information into various soft ware programs to monitor use of the facility.
  8. Maintains standards of IEC materials security across all IEC logistical processes.
  9. Ensures material allocation and distribution plans are in place.
  10. Ensures consistent adequate stock of necessary electoral materials to support all IEC activities.
  11. Oversee the planned maintenance of warehouse machinery and equipment.

JOB SPECIFICATION

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates for this position should Hold Master’s degree in Logistics Management/ Business Administration or related field plus at least (3) years working experience at managerial level.

OR

Holds a degree in Logistics Management/Business Administration or related plus (5) years relevant working experience at managerial level.
