The LOEWE FOUNDATION launches the seventh edition of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, an international award celebrating excellence in craftsmanship. The Award seeks to recognize uniquely talented artisans whose artistic vision and will to innovate set new standards for the future of craft.

The work should fall within an area of the applied arts and, as a guide, within the following categories: ceramics, bookbinding, enamelwork, jewellery, lacquer, metal, furniture, leather, textiles, glass, wood, paper, etc.

The work must demonstrates artistic intent in addition to technical proficiency. Also, it must be a one-of-a-kind original piece, handmade or partly handmade, and recently created (in the last five years). Entries may be made by an individual or collective (as a ‘group submission’).

There is no entry fee.

Eligibility

Open worldwide to professional artisans 18 years or older. A professional artisan is considered someone dedicated to crafts as a profession, and participate actively in exhibitions, galleries, fairs, educational programs, etc. You do not necessarily need to make a living out of it.

Prize

The prize for the winning entry is 50,000 EUR (approx. 56,240 USD). The shortlisted and winning works will feature in the exhibition and accompanying catalogue in Paris in spring 2024.
