Duties

The primary purpose of the Local Partner Specialist is to support PEPFAR Lesotho in ensuring for a smooth transition to local/indigenous partners in alignment with PEPFAR guidance and strategy. The incumbent will coordinate between agencies and with implementing partners and local organizations. In addition, the Local Partner Specialist will coordinate and lead capacity building assistance activities for local partner organizations as a key strategy for facilitating the ownership, delivery and sustainability of PEPFAR programs in Lesotho. Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of 3 years working in a coordination role is required. Minimum of 3 years experience in providing capacity building assistance that includes training, technical assistance and/or mentoring to local partners is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE:  Knowledge and experience working in health sector (especially HIV/AIDS). Ability to demonstrate resourcefulness, responsibility, and capacity for effective coordination. Ability to work independently and self-motivated and flexible.Education Requirements:

University Degree in public health, business administration, public administration, economics, finance, or related social science fields. 
Evaluations:

LANGUAGE:  Level IV (fluent) speaking, reading, and writing in English.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with people of varied professional, educational, and cultural backgrounds. Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills. Ability to multi-task effectively. Ability to analyze and interpret data and present findings in written and oral form. Competency in all Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). The incumbent should be comfortable typing multi-page reports and tracking basic numerical data about partners (budget levels, historic performance, etc). This position requires that the accepted applicant have the ability to obtain (at minimum) an authorization to work security clearance.
