Loan Processing Assistant
LB Micro Finance Pty Ltd is a private financial company licensed by the Central Bank of Lesotho in 2021.
The company is inviting applications for the position of Loan Processing Assistant.
Responsibilities of a Loan Processing Assistant
Customer Support & Communication
- Acts as the first point of contact for loan applicants
- Explain loan products, application requirements, and procedures
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person
- Follow up with clients to collect missing information or documents
Loan Application Processing
- Assist customers in completing loan application forms
- Review applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Verify applicant information such as income, employment, and credit history
- Ensure documentation meets institutional and regulatory standards
Documentation & Record Management
- Collect, organise, and maintain loan files and supporting documents
- Prepare loan files for underwriting and approval
- Ensure proper filing (physical or digital) in line with company policies
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and financial information
- Track loan status and update relevant stakeholders
- Assist in resolving issues that may delay loan approval or disbursement
Compliance & Quality Control
- Ensure loan processing follows regulations and internal policies
- Support compliance with KYC (Know Your Customer), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and credit guidelines
- Check loan documents for errors before submission
Sales & Business Support
- Support loan officers in meeting sales targets
- Identify cross-selling or upselling opportunities
- Promote loan products to prospective clients
Reporting & Administrative Duties
- Prepare basic reports on loan applications and approvals
- Maintain databases and update loan tracking systems
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars for loan officers
Post-Approval Support
- Assist in loan closing and disbursement processes
- Communicate approval terms and conditions to customers
- Support post-disbursement documentation and follow-ups
Skills Required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and organisational ability
- Basic knowledge of loan products and financial services
- Proficiency in office software and loan management systems
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Certificate or higher in IT, Marketing, Graphic Design, Microfinance, or any related field
- Experience working with microfinance institutions will be an added advantage
- Reference from former workplaces
