LNDC Rental Holiday

The Lesotho National Development Corporation (LNDC)  has taken a bold cue from the Prime Minister’s call for government agencies and parastatals to support the private sector and ease adverse economic impact of COVID-19 epidemic that continues to engulf the world. It is in this spirit that the Board of Directors of the Corporation in its sitting of the 14th of April 2020 approved a rental holiday package for businesses that occupy the corporation’s buildings on the following conditions;

Businesses that are classified as essential and have been operating during lockdown period qualify for a 1-month rental holiday for the month of April 2020

Businesses that are classified as non-essential and have NOT been operating during the lockdown period qualify for a 2-month rental holiday for the months of April and May 2020.

This intervention seeks to ease the burden on monthly monetary obligations for the businesses and hopefully encourage the businesses to maintain similar employment numbers that existed prior to COVID – 19 pandemic. “One Job lost is one too many for the Kingdom of Lesotho in these challenging times”.

The Corporation aligns with the new reality that Lesotho and indeed the world is facing a truly unprecedented situation that calls for enhanced solidarity amongst us as a nation   to support our private sector in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic and safe jobs.
