The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in English Language/Literature in English Education.
1.0 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of Master’s Degree in English Language & Linguistics Education with a background in Literature in English Education.
The following are preferable/added advantages:
o A PhD in Education with specialisation in: English language and Linguistics Education. Preferably a background in Literature in English Education;
o A Bachelor’s
Degree with specialisation in
both English Language
&
Linguistics, Literature in English
as teaching subjects, and Education at undergraduate
level.
A minimum experience of three (3) years of teaching courses in the required areas in an institution of higher education preferably on a full-time basis.
A proven record of research, conferences and seminar presentations in either or both of English Language & Linguistics Education and Literature in English Education.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will be responsible for the following:
Designing courses, teaching, and supervising research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Supervising Teaching Practice
Presenting relevant papers at national and international conferences;
Undertaking research and publishing in the area of specialisation;
Diligently performing any other duties as shall be required by the Department and Faculty.
3.0 REMUNERATION
The University offers salaries and other benefits that are commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant who shall qualify for the appointment.
4.0 TYPE OF CONTRACT
The contract shall be permanent and pensionable for local applicants and contractual for non-local applicants.
