Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned position. The positions are tenable in the Transmission and Distribution Department.
Applicants may be expected to work at any LEC Depot throughout the country.
The incumbents will report to their respective Team Leaders.
Qualifications, Experience & Other Requirements
• Certificate in Electrical Installation
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an electrical-related environment
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering (added advantage)
• Basic knowledge of electrical distribution systems
• Ability to work at heights
• Valid Driver’s License (essential)
Key Performance Areas
Construction and Maintenance
• Construct and maintain overhead and underground electrical networks as instructed
• Install and remove pole‑mounted electrical equipment under authorised supervision
• Perform general labour duties related to line construction and maintenance
• Patrol lines and climb towers to inspect and rectify defects
• Dig holes and trenches for pole planting and cable laying
• Plant and dress poles for line stringing
Fault Response and Emergency Work
• Report all faults and breakdowns to the Team Leader
• Attend to planned and unplanned maintenance activities
Substation, Tools and Equipment Management
• Clean substation buildings and outdoor yards under authorised supervision
• Clean, inspect, and safely store tools and equipment after use
