Applications are invited from suitably qualified Lesotho Nationals for the above-mentioned positions. The positions are tenable in the Transmission and Distribution Department. The position is based at LEC Maputsoe Office. The incumbents will be responsible to the Area Manager Maputsoe.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Certificate in Electrical Installation
• 1 year’s relevant experience Must have a valid driver’s license
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Among others, the incumbent will be responsible for performing the following duties:
• Patrolling lines and climbing towers/poles to inspect and rectify defects.
• Diggings holes and trenches.
• Planting and dressing poles and line stringing.
• Repairing, maintaining and constructing power lines.
• Cleaning tools and keeping them safe.
• Cleaning substations (buildings & outdoor yards) under authorized persons.
• Adhering to safe working practices in compliance with the safety rules & regulations.
• Attending to planned works and emergencies beyond normal working hours including standby duties.
• Mounts pole mounted transformers and other equipment.
• Clears foreign objects along electrical power lines
• Cuts trees along “dead” lines and “live” lines
• Address soil erosion around towers/poles
• Any other duties that may be reasonably assigned from time to time and occasioned by the position requirements.
