We are filling multiple positions within OnePower Lesotho, a startup Independent Power Producer (IPP) incubated by STG International that is a manufacturer of PV tracking frames and is developing both solar on -grid and off- grid community scale mini -grids. You are someone who is enthusiastic about solar energy and can contribute to ideally several of the many activities that the OnePower team is engaged on to make this enterprise successful.
The primary role requires certification as an electric lineman, a job that entails working with electrical systems and constructing, troubleshooting and repairing them. This includes maintaining phased electrical distribution systems, pole setting and pole top work, removing and replacing damaged cables, switches, meters and circuit protection, and understanding the proper procedures for grounding systems.
Qualifications include a high school diploma (minimum) plus formal training and/or relevant expertise working with transformers, circuits, fuses and live systems. Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols play an important role in this job.
The work is physically demanding and often done with a team; a strong work ethic, a willingness to work with others and an aptitude for communicating in high tension situations are some of the basic skills needed to accomplish the job in addition to the technical expertise involved with an electrical lineman’s duties.
Compensation will be competitive and based on skills, experience and training.
