Lesotho receives donations from China Aid

Government of Lesotho received donations from the People’s Republic of China through China Aid.

The consignment includes surgical masks, surgical gloves, Thermo scanner,
Isolation shoe covers, personal Protective Clothes (PPE), surgical goggles to
mention but a few.

Present to receive the consignment were Minister of Health Honourable Nkaku Kabi, Minister of Development Planning Hon. Tlohelang Aumane, the People’s Republic of China Ambassador His Excellency Lei Kezhong and Nationala Emergency Command Centre Coordinator Mr Matete “Nena among others.

This comes as the third donation received this year from China through various donors in preparation for a fight against the global pandemic known as COVID19.

Lesotho declared a state of emergency on COVID-19 by the Right Honourable Prime Minister Dr Motsoahae Thomas Thabane on the 27th March 2020 with legal notice no.24.

While relations between the two countries dates back in 1983, with the first
significant diplomatic exchange occurring when Prime Minister Leabua Jonathan visited China later that year, followed by King Moshoeshoe II in 1985.
