The Early Learning Resource Unit (ELRU) is an NGO within the Early Childhood Development sector located in Lansdowne, Cape Town. ELRU is seeking an enthusiastic and self-driven manager to project manage and implement the LEGO Foundation Project in line with our existing consortium partners within the Western Cape Province,19 Flamingo Crescent, Lansdowne, Cape Town.

Reports To: Programmes Manager

Main Job Responsibilities
To manage and implement the LEGO Foundation’s Project internally for ELRU. This involves managing and co-ordinating the Caregiver Learning through Play Project, managing all internal play facilitators and administrators, attending meetings with all LEGO consortium partners, monitoring the implementation and budget of the project and addressing challenges that arise throughout the period of the project.

Project Management and Implementation:
Manage, supervise, coordinate and support all Play Facilitators and administrators within the project.
Assist with the annual set up of the project and engage with the LEGO consortium, which includes attending all relevant stakeholder meeting’s and reporting back on material changes.
Provide direct observation and mentoring support to all Play Facilitators during site visits. Hold discussions with Play Facilitators on their challenges which need to be addressed and provide workable solutions to such. Bring issues or challenges experienced in the field by to the attention of your manager for referral and discussion.
Ensure project activities comply with the policies and regulations of the donor organisation and consortium partners.
Responsible for overseeing the development and execution of project deliverables, lead project planning, budgeting, action plans and monitoring processes.
Project Monitoring, Reporting and Administration:
Responsible for submitting activity reports, meeting minutes and financial reports on regular basis to the donor.
Oversee the preparation and submission of annual activity-based project budgets as well as monthly and quarterly financial reports and sending of new funding requests.
Lead and motivate the project team and monitor project activities and project expenditure and co-ordinate work with consultants and volunteers in the project.
Trouble shoots project problems. Identifies and implements creative solutions.
Manage all HR related queries, requests and challenges.

Pre Requisite for the Positon

Be able to draft and present project implementation plans.
All funding and contractual obligations must be met in line with project agreement and implementation plan(s).
Attend all stakeholder engagement meeting and participate in sub-committee meetings.
Prudent financial management in handling of budgets and resource allocation.
Manage and communicate ELRU’s monitoring and evaluation of beneficiaries reached weekly in conjunction with the M&E Department.
Must be able to draft and write comprehensive and professional reports.
To submit progress reports in line with project forecasted expenditure.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must have a drivers licence and be open to travel provincially.
