JOB PURPOSE

Save the Children South Africa are proud to be part of a consortium with the Hope Worldwide (HWW), Ntataise and Elru to implement a four year “Learning Through Planning” project.  The ECCD Project Administrator responsible for the facilitation, coordination, and implementation of the LEGO Foundation Project “Learning through Play” (LtP) activities at the within five provinces (Free State, Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, KwaZulu Natal). The LEGO Foundation project aims to empower caregivers with knowledge, skills, activities, and tools to facilitate Learning through Play (LtP).

The position will Provide coordination and facilitation to all learning through play project interventions at the community level. The Project coordinator will coordinate and facilitate trainings for ECD practitioners, supervisors, and caregivers within identified communities in dedicated provinces that LEGO project is implemented.  S/he will liaise with key stakeholders in the community and caregivers and manage play Facilitators. Organise and coordinate the relevant trainings, workshops and meetings required with relevant stakeholders and partners, manage, and oversee distribution of IEC materials; maintain inventory by checking stock.

Key Responsibilities
Initiate and engage with local relevant caregiver/parent groups, ECD forums and local communities’ structures or CBOs.
Conduct basic assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes which include Baseline survey and Knowledge, Attitudes, Behaviour & Practices (KABP).
Schedule and implement training workshops and provide follow-up support to the Learning through play participants; Caregivers/parents, ECD practitioners and CSOs.
In line with the approved project implementation plan and the budget, develop the monthly project plans and monthly progress report.
Work with Programme Administrator on organising the logistics, communications and preparations of materials and supplies for training events,
Provide Face to Face Training of Parents and Caregivers on RC and Ltp,
Monitor and support Ltp capacity building and development coordinated in the designated province,
In collaboration with M& E staff, develop monitoring plans for effective delivery of training in the province,
Compile and provide regular reports (both written and verbal) on activities and progress against the Ltp project plans,
Budget management: Implements the responsive caregiving and learning trough play project activities according to stated budget; Conducts monthly analysis and reporting on allocated budget.
Programme knowledge management: Works collaboratively with the Ltp project team to develop and compile the project repository of documents, training materials, Advocacy materials & reports; Contributes to project dissemination of RC & Ltp content (i.e., case stories and more); conducts learning to benefit self, the organization, and projects.
Coordinate the distribution of relevant project related IEC materials to targeted audience which include caregivers/parents, Practitioners and CSOs.
Support project advocacy and awareness campaigns from different level of implementations
Any other duties of similar nature as required by National LEGO Project Manager and Thematic Manager time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
Post- matriculation National diploma/degree in Education or equivalent qualification in one of the related fields: Social Science; community Development.
At least 2 years’ experience of working in Education Sector/programmes (preferred experience of working with parents/caregivers, ECD Practitioners and ECD centres within communities).
Grade 12 proficiency with English and one other relevant local language.
Experience working within an NGO.
Valid Driving licence.
