We are inviting applications for the role of Legal Senior Manager – English!
The candidate will assist and advise on a variety of corporate, legal, regulatory, and labour and employment-related issues as they arise, prevent or minimize legal risk to the organization, and act as a trusted advisor to the business.
Provide practical and business-oriented legal advice and counselling on a range of legal issues, including:
Employment issues, including hiring, performance management, and general employee relations
Regulatory compliance requirements applicable to Genpact’s operations in South Africa, including data privacy
Corporate formalities for Genpact’s South Africa legal entity;
Assist in drafting company policies to maintain compliance with applicable laws;
Assist in the investigation and responses to any government authority, regulator or agency audits, investigations, complaints or inquiries;
Implement, advise on and participate in, as necessary, internal investigations of complaints or grievances;
Assist and advise Genpact’s Data Privacy and Protection team with respect to data privacy and related requirements applicable to South Africa;
Assess substantive developments in applicable laws and incorporate that knowledge in providing prompt and measurable advice.
Minimum Requirements:
LLB degree or permissible equivalent from a university registered in the Republic of South Africa, or a law degree obtained in a foreign country, which is equivalent to the LLB degree and recognised by the South African Qualifications Authority established by the National Qualifications Framework Act
Admitted and Enrolled to practice as a Legal Practitioner in terms of the Legal Practice Act, or any legislation to which this act is a successor regulating the admission of legal practitioners
Relevant work experience on Post Qualification Experience in employment law and/or having acted in the capacity of a corporate compliance officer
Possess strong client-relations and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent judgment and superior written and oral communication and analytical skills
Detail-oriented, and a demonstrated ability to work, quickly, effectively and collaboratively
Ability to handle and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks effectively and independently
