FINANCIAL INTELLIGENCE UNIT

JOB PURPOSE

To advise the FIU and all Accountable and Reporting institutions listed under Schedule1 of Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act (MLPCA) on legal issues pertaining to the legislation on Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing.

DUTIES 

To ensure that FIU comply with the obligations under the governing legislation.Coordinating Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing activities at national level and international.Developing and reviewing policies.Assisting the FIU in ensuring compliance with international standards on AML/CFTCoordinating implementation of NRA implementation plan.To advise the Director on matters related to coordination with laws and regulations affecting the FIU.To provide legal advice and represent the FIU in the Courts of Law

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Education 

LLB with at least seven years of relevant working experience.Knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to money laundering and terrorist financing nationally and internationally  

Experience 

Should demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of money laundering legislations and related issues.Must have ability to communicate effectively and efficiently.Must have analytical skills.Training in Compliance and Money Laundering Excellent communication skills (oral and written); An intermediate level of computer literacy, including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point.Valid driver’s license.
