 Job Summary

Able teach the modules in Health Information Management. (Medical terminology, Medical Transcription, Epidemiology & Biostatistics, Human Biology, Health Ethics, Health Insurance, Health Information Management) etc.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ability to inspire and motivate students
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a good command of English
  • Good Organizational skills
  • Ability to coordinate and mentor projects and internship for students including liaison with local Science Institutions and Business industry
  • Maintain student records and execute various day to day administrative responsibilities involved with teaching
  • Continuously upgrade skills through self- study and work with peers
  • Be a constructive member of Botho University team
  • Research and publishing

Qualifications and Experience Required

  1. PhD/Masters’ Degree in the field of Health Sciences / Health & Safety 
  2. Lecturer: A minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching in reputed tertiary institutions. However, experience is not a bar for the candidates having recently completed Masters’ degree but with exceptional technical and teaching skills. 
  3. Sr. Lecturer: A minimum of 5 years’ experience of teaching in a reputed tertiary institution.
  4. Professors/Fellow: Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral research experience and experience participating in international research evidenced by publication in scholarly journals.

Skills and Competencies required:

  1. Ability to teach core modules in the respective streams
  2. Ability to handle practical/labs where applicable   
  3. Excellent verbal and Communication Skills with good attitude
  4. Ability to set quality Assessments
  5. Research driven
