Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

The National University of Lesotho’s Energy Research Centre, under the Department of Physics & Electronics and the Faculty of Science and Technology, offers a multidisciplinary Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Sustainable Energy programme which covers technical and socio-economics courses. The NUL therefore invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the above-mentioned position.

The applicant should have the following credentials:

  • A Masters or PhD Degree in Sustainable Energy or related field.
  • Specialisation in at least three of the following and a strong background in others —Energy Economics, Energy Entrepreneurship, Energy Planning and Policy, Project Finance and Sustainable Energy Solutions for Communities.
  • Publications in recognised or accredited journals and experience in tertiary-level teaching of the above-mentioned courses will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will be expected to lecture allocated courses in the specified fields above, conduct research, supervise and monitor student’s projects/dissertations. He/she will also assist in seeking funding opportunities (grants, consultancies, projects, etc.) and writing winning proposals. 

Remuneration:

The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Employment type

Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
