Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- A Master of Pharmacy specializing in Pharmaceutics / MSc in Pharmaceutics, with an undergraduate Bachelor of Pharmacy degree
- PhD holders must have a minimum of six (6) months teaching experience
- Master’s degree holders must have a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in institutions of higher learning OR possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education
- Evidence of research experience, including publications and/or research reports in related fields
- Must be a registered pharmacist with a valid registration with the Lesotho Medical, Dental and Pharmacy Council (LMDPC)
Duties and Responsibilities
The successful appointee will be expected to:
- Teach pharmaceutical science modules
- Carry out supervision at placement sites, including laboratory sessions and industrial sites
- Monitor and assess student practical performance and portfolio compilation
- Take leadership in the area of specialization and mentor young professionals in development, research, and publication
- Possess technical knowledge of specialized instrumentation such as HPLC, Zetasizer, FTIR, etc.
- Test finished pharmaceutical products
- Participate in drug formulation research, including novel drug delivery systems
- Supervise students’ dissertations
- Engage in research and curriculum development
- Design and oversee pharmaceutics laboratory practicals and participate in community service
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Department, including administrative responsibilities
Remuneration
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment Type
- Permanent and pensionable/gratuity terms for locals
- Two‑year contract for non‑locals, with a possibility of renewal
