Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
The applicant should have the following credentials:
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Nutrition / Health / Dietetics with a background in a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Dietetics will be an added advantage for locals, and is a minimum requirement for non‑locals
- For the Senior Lecturer position, candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of scholarly clinical research and publications in accredited peer‑reviewed journals, together with relevant university‑level teaching experience
- Preference will be given to candidates with practical experience as a Dietitian in clinical settings
- Teaching experience, especially at university level, is an added advantage for locals and a requirement for non‑locals
- Local candidates without a PhD qualification must indicate interest in enrolling for a PhD within one year of appointment
- The applicant must be of good conduct
- The applicant must have good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be required to:
- Undertake teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in:
- Clinical Nutrition (I & II)
- Principles of Metabolic Endocrinology
- Nutrient and Drug Interactions
- Plan and coordinate Clinical Nutrition practicals in local hospitals
- Participate in Nutrition programme review
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research projects
- Initiate and participate in research and seminar programmes within the department
- Perform administrative duties as required by the department from time to time
