JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the Head of Programme, the Lecturer 11 responsible for teaching and monitoring of students as well as monitoring them on industrial attachment. Conducts curriculum review, internal examination moderation, and also assists in the overall development of the programme.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties of the post are as follows :-
- Prepares lessons and/or training materials, delivers lectures and/or conducts practical field work and/or laboratory sessions for 20 to 24 hours per week.
- Prepares lesson plans, lesson notes, marking schemes, record of work and record of assessments for the subjects taught.
- Assists the Head of Programme in the development of the programme and participates in curriculum review.
- Conducts tests and examinations for assessments and keep updated records of student performance.
- Monitors students on industrial attachment to obtain feedback on their progress.
- Conducts research related to field of expertise, and publish findings in professional journals, periodicals, textbooks, and/or electronic journals.
- Facilitates departmental community engagement and outreach projects.
- Moderation of examination papers.
- Assists with administration and other activities of the programme as may be prescribed by the Head of programme or representative as delegated.
JOB SPECIFICATION
QUALIFICATIONS
BSc Engineering Mechanical/Mechatronics: Must have a one-year experience in either academic/industrial field.
OR
B-Eng Mechanical/Mechatronics: Must have a one-year experience in either academic/industrial field.
OR
B-Tech Mechanical/Mechatronics: Must have a one-year experience in either academic/industrial field.
Certificate/Diploma in Fitting and Machining will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Material Technology
- Mechanics
- CAD (Solidworks, Autodesk Inventor, etc)
- Engineering Mathematics
- Trade Mathematics
- Engineering Drawing

- Willingness to participate in outreach programs and represent the institution in professional forums.
