JOB SUMMARY
Under the general Supervision of the Head of Programme, the Lecturer shall conduct lectures in his/her areas of specialization. He/she will conduct curriculum review, internal moderation and research work. He/she is expected to take an active part in the upgrading and strengthening of all the activities of the Department, and to participate in other professional activities of the Polytechnic to ensure effective training and development in the Polytechnic.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The key duties of the post are as follows :-
- Prepares lessons and/or training materials, delivers lectures and/or conducts practicals for 20 to 24 hours per week
- Assists the Head of Programme for the development of the Programme.
- Conducts tests and examinations for assessments and keep updated records.
- Facilitates departmental community engagement projects.
- Assists with administrative and other duties as prescribed by the Head of Programme or Representative as delegated.
- Facilitates and conducts departmental research and issues publications
- Ensures discipline and counselling of students
- Prepares lesson plans, lesson notes, marking schemes, record of work and record of assessments for the subjects taught for future reference.
- Prepares, conducts and assesses theoretical and practical lessons to ensure effective training.
- Participates in internal moderation panel and curriculum review exercise for quality assurance and effective training programmes.
- Monitors students on industrial attachment to obtain feedback on their progress.
- Attends meetings relevant to his/her section, for information dissemination.
- Participates in his/her field of study for the development and recognition of the institution.
NB: Because of the changing nature of the Polytechnic’s business, the job description will inevitably change. The candidate will, from time to time, be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within his/her capabilities as directed by management.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Qualifications
- Masters in Marketing
- Candidates with Masters in a closely related Marketing field, such as Commerce, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Digital Transformation or Digital Marketing, may also be considered, provided they demonstrate a strong grounding in Marketing
- Candidate must have Degree in Marketing for first Degree or closely related.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience or one-year Industrial experience will be an added advantage.
Should be capable to Lecture:
- All Marketing Related Modules
- Mercantile Law/Commercial Law
- Accounting
