Requirements:
For a Senior Lecturer
- A PhD in English Language Education or Applied English Language/Linguistics Education or related field.
- A minimum experience of three (3) years of teaching courses in the required area in an institution of higher education; preferably on a full-time basis.
- A minimum of three publications in peer reviewed and accredited journals.
- A proven record of conferences and seminar presentations in the relevant area.
- Should already be at the rank of a Senior Lecturer when applying as the University does not promote upon recruitment.
Added advantages (s)
- Experience of teaching English Language at the secondary school level.
For a Lecturer
- Master’s degree in English Language or Applied English Language/Linguistics Education or related field; OR
- A PhD in English Language Education or Applied English Language/Linguistics Education. Applicants at an advanced stage of PhD studies may also be considered.
- A minimum experience of two (2) years of teaching courses in the required area in an institution of higher education; preferably on a full-time basis
Added advantage(s)
- A proven record of research, conferences and seminar presentations in the relevant area.
- Experience of teaching English Language at the secondary school level.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Lecture/Senior Lecturer will be responsible for the following:
- Design courses, teach and supervise research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
- Supervise Teaching Practice;
- Supervise Postgraduate students (applicants with a PhD)
- Present relevant papers at national, regional and international conferences;
- Undertake research and publish in the area of specialisation;
- Engage in community service;
- Diligently perform any other duties as shall be required by the Department and Faculty.
