Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate professor/Professor in the Department of Economics

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The candidates should have the following credentials:

  • At least a Master’s Degree in Economics with coursework, and a Second-Class Upper Division (2:1) or equivalent pass at undergraduate level.
  • Strong background in the following core courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Applied Econometrics, and at least two of the following specialized areas: International Economics, Health Economics, and Financial Economics.
  • For a Lecturer position, university teaching experience in any of the above-mentioned courses and evidence of research publications[1] and/or unpublished manuscripts that are under review in good outlets, and seminar and conference presentations will be an added advantage.
  • For Senior Lecturer position, applicants must
    • have a PhD degree in Economics (or Public Policy with specialization in Economics),
    • have at least six (6) years of teaching experience at university level,
    • have a strong research record with relevant refereed publications in top accredited international journals, and
    • already be in this position at an equivalent institution of higher learning at the time of application.
  • For the position of Associate Professor/Professor, applicants must
    • already be in these positions at the equivalent institution of higher learning at the time of application,
    • have a PhD degree in Economics (or Public Policy with specialization in Economics),
    • have experience teaching a broad range of courses at both Undergraduate and Postgraduate levels,
    • have a strong research record with relevant refereed publications in top accredited international journals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The incumbent will be expected to lecture courses at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, supervise and monitor student’s projects/dissertations.

REMUNERATION

The University offers competitive salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE

Two (2) year contract.
