Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Adult Education – IEMS at the National University of Lesotho.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- A Master’s degree in Adult Education, Open and Distance Learning (ODL) or Education;
- A PhD in Adult Education, Open & Distance Learning (ODL) or Education will be an added advantage;
- Teaching experience of not less than three (3) years in an institution of higher learning;
- Experience in administering an academic programme in higher learning will be an added advantage;
- Experience of the Open Distance Learning (ODL) mode of delivery will be an added advantage;
- Digital literacy;
- Ability to offer support to diverse distance learners;
- Ability to supervise research projects
- Preparedness to work unsociable hours at times.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The suitable candidate is expected to work harmoniously with colleagues and students of diverse backgrounds, and also be proficient in any two (2) of the following areas of specialization:
- Educational Management, Adult Education, ODL, Community Development, Gender, Research and Evaluation Methods and graduate programmes addressing national needs;
- Teach and undertake research supervision of students;
- Develop ODL self-instructional course materials to be used by heterogeneous distance learners;
- Offer appropriate support to distance learners from diverse backgrounds;
- Promote the development of distance education across the University;
- Promote networking and collaboration in ODL locally, regionally and internationally.
CONTRACT TERMS
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years’ Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
