Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Master’s degree in Physical Education, or
- Master’s degree in Physical Education and Sport, or
- Master’s degree in Sport, Recreation and Exercise Sciences with emphasis on Physical Education
- Proven record of research (journal articles, book chapters, conference and seminar presentations) will be an added advantage
- Minimum of three (3) years’ teaching experience in the required area at a higher education institution or school level, preferably on a full-time basis
- Experience supervising projects at tertiary or school level
- Demonstrable potential and capacity to initiate projects and/or activities relevant to the teaching and learning of Physical Education and Sport
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop programmes and courses
- Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise projects and teaching practice
- Conduct research and present papers at national, regional, and international conferences and forums
- Undertake research and publish in the area of specialisation
- Engage in community service
- Perform any other duties as required by the Department and Faculty
Remuneration
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment Type
- Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for local candidates
- Two (2) year contract for non-locals, with the possibility of renewal
