VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post
Post No. 2235 – Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Physical Chemistry
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for one position of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Technology. This position will be for a full-time contract for an initial period of two years with the possibility of subsequent renewal for another two years upon satisfactory performance.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
The minimum qualification for this post is MSc in Physical Chemistry with satisfactory teaching experience at a recognized university or an equivalent institution of higher learning. However, a PhD with strong inclination towards Theoretical Chemistry, Computational Chemistry or Quantum Chemistry will be preferred.
DUTIES:
Duties will include the following:
- Teaching of Physical Chemistry courses to both undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Supervision of laboratory sessions for the practical components of courses assigned to teach
- Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students’ projects
- Participate in the research activities of the department
- Writing research proposals that can attract research funds, designing new courses and/or programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate training.
- Any other duties as may be assigned by the department from time to time
