The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer in Pharmacy.

1.0 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

The applicant must have a minimum of MSc in Medicinal Chemistry with an undergraduate of Bachelors of Pharmacy; with a minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in institution(s) of higher learning. The applicant should have evidence of research experience with publications and/or research reports. Technical expertise in instrumental chemistry (NMR, Mass, IR spectroscopies and chromatographic separations) is an added advantage.

2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful appointee will be expected to:

o   Teach pharmaceutical chemistry courses in the department of pharmacy

o   Supervise students’ dissertations

o   Engage in research and curriculum development including overseeing and developing of pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory practical sessions.

o   Test medicinal products brought by commercial herbalists for analysis

o   Carry out community engagement

The candidate will also be expected to perform any other duties assigned to him/her by the department including administrative work.

3.0 TYPE OF CONTRACT:
The appointment will be on Permanent and pensionable for locals and contract/gratuitable for non-locals subject to completion of probation
