Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- The applicant must have a minimum of Master’s degree in Nutrition with a background in Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Nutrition.
- A minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in institution(s) of higher learning. The applicant should have evidence of research experience with publications and/or research reports.
- Applicants must demonstrate competence in handling nutrition courses at undergraduate level.
- A minimum of Master’s Degree (M.Sc.) in Nutrition (locals) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)in Nutrition (non-locals).
- Teaching experience at a tertiary will be an added advantage.
- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in a relevant field for locals will be an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The applicant will be expected to promote the professional development of nutrition students through teaching, supervision and research in nutrition discipline.
- Undertake teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Initiate and /or participate in nutrition research programmes and programme development within the department.
- Perform other duties, including administrative, as would be required by the Nutrition department.
- Must be able to teach main stream Nutrition courses which among others include: Nutrition Planning and Counselling, International Nutrition and Health promotion as well as Food Service management
- Applicant is expected to develop up to date study materials, deliver lectures and assess students as per the rules and regulations of the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment type
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
