LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN MATHEMATICS
EDUCATION
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Mathematics Education.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
A candidate must hold a PhD degree in Mathematics Education and have a Mathematics teaching experience at high school level or tertiary mathematics teacher education experience. A Masters degree in Mathematics Education (MScEd) or Masters in Education (MEd) with Mathematics focus with Mathematics teaching experience at high school
level may be considered. Experience of supervising at post graduate level will be an added advantage. In addition, the incumbent must have relevant research experience and discernable potential/capacity to initiate projects and activities relevant to the teaching and learning of Mathematics.
Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching Mathematics Education courses at both undergraduate and post – graduate levels,
Supervising students’ research projects,
Supervising students during Teaching Practice,
Conducting research and engage in relevant community activities
Performing any other duties that promote and develop the department as may be assigned from time to time.
Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualification and experience.
Contract
The appointment is on permanent and pensionable basis for locals or fixed term contract for non-nationals.
