Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • At least a Masters Degree in Literature in English;
  • Applicants should be able to teach a broad range of courses.
  • Applicants should have specialization in the following areas: African literature ,Cultural Studies and Literary Theory.
  • Applicants should have evidence of a research and publication record.
  • Applicants should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at a tertiary level.
  • Applicants should have a strong willingness to contribute to strengthening support for students, and to creating an intellectual climate in which research, teaching, and debate are able to flourish.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching.
  • Supervising.
  • Participating in the research programmes of the Department/Faculty.
  • Conducting research in his/her area of expertise and performing any other duties as may be required by the Department.
  • Assuming administrative duties if requested to.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to continued professional and academic development while maintaining and establishing links in the creative and cultural industries to strengthen design and development of programmes, teaching research and any associated activities.

Remuneration:
The University offers salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Type of Employment:
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals and Contract/gratuitable for Non-Locals.
