The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Library and Information Studies.
1.0 MINIMUM QUALIFITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• A professional Librarian who holds a Masters Degree in Library and Information Studies, with experience in teaching and/or supervising learners in relevant academic institution such as a college/polytechnic or a university.
• Be a member of the Lesotho Library Association.
• Be active in national/regional professional matters
• Publication record in refereed journals will be an added advantage.
2.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach allocated courses that mainly comprise Fundamentals of Information Resource Description (Cataloguing and Classification), Organisation of Knowledge, Information Resources Development, Information Resource Description; Library Governance and Leadership in all types of Libraries)
• Coach in Practicum
• Assesses Learners
• Supervise in Experiential Learning and student Report/Dissertation Writing
• Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by Head of Department
3.0 RENUMERATION
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
4.0 TYPE OF CONTRACT
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable for Locals and Contract for Non-Locals.
