POST NUMBER: 2270 – HYDROGEOLOGIST LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a position of a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Hydrogeology.
Basotho applicants with requisite qualifications and requirements will have a priority in line with localization policy of the University.
Minimum qualifications and requirements
The applicant must hold the following qualifications:
Master’s degree in Hydrogeology, or any related field
PhD in Hydrogeology will be an added advantage for the Lecturer position; but for Senior Lecturer it is a requirement.
Proven track record of research and publishing of at least 2 articles with reputable publishers, and in accredited journals.
Experience
Work experience of at least 2 years in the field of Hydrogeology is required.
Two (2) years’ teaching experience in a tertiary institution is a requirement for Senior Lecturer but will be an added advantage for a Lecturer
Duties and responsibilities
Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
Supervise undergraduate research projects and postgraduate dissertations
Participate in the research programs of the Department/Faculty
Conduct research in his/her area of expertise
Develop new programmes and conduct curriculum review
Serve in committees within the University and external professional organizations
Engage in community outreach
Assume administrative duties if required
Do any other duty assigned by the University.
Duration of employment
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years’ Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal.
Remuneration
The NUL offers competitive salaries and some benefits in accordance with the qualifications and experience.
