LECTURER / SENIOR LECTURER IN FILM AND TELEVISION STUDIES
FACULTY OF HUMANITIES
DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH
The National University of Lesotho invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following post:
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
• The applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Film and Television Studies.
• Applicants should be able to teach a broad range of courses.
• Applicants should show strong evidence of publication in refereed and accredited journals.
• Applicants should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience at tertiary.
• Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to continued professional and academic development while maintaining and establishing links in the
creative and cultural industries to strengthen design and development of programmes, teaching research and any associated activities.
• Applicants should be conversant with industry standards and regulations.
The successful applicant will be required to play an active role in building the Department, taking the lead in developing new areas of activity when required, and contributing to the Department, the Faculty and the University-wide activities. He or she will be expected to be actively involved in grant applications, have a clear research and publication strategy and be willing to contribute to projects that complement the Department, Faculty and University’s research and knowledge-transfer activities. The successful candidate will be expected to teach both physical and virtual classes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
• Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations.
• Participating in the research programmes of the Department/Faculty.
• Conducting research in his/her area of expertise and performing any other duties as may be required by the Department.
• Assuming administrative duties if requested to.
• Any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post.
