POSITION: Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Education Policy Studies

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

The Department of Educational Foundations seeks applications from suitably qualified locals with the following:

  • A PhD in Education Policy Studies
  • Have a relevant Master’s and or Honours for the specialisation.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in courses in the required area in an institution of higher education, preferably on a full-time basis.
  • At least one (1) peer-reviewed/accredited journal publication for a lecturer; OR a minimum of three (3) publications in peer-reviewed/accredited journals for a senior lecturer.
  • A proven record of conferences and seminar presentations in the relevant area.

Added Advantages

  • Experience in teaching at the secondary school level.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Lecturer / Senior Lecturer will be responsible for the following:

  • Design courses, teach and supervise research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Supervise Teaching Practice;
  • Supervise Postgraduate students;
  • Present relevant papers at national, regional and international conferences;
  • Undertake research and publish in the area of Specialisation;
  • Engage in community service;
  • Diligently perform any other duties as shall be required by the Department and Faculty.

The University offers competitive salaries and other benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.


Employment Type

Permanent and pensionable/ gratuitable for locals and two – year contract position for Non-Locals.
