Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Associate Professor
• PhD in Development Studies
• Background qualification in Development Studies at MA Level
• At least Six Years of teaching Development Studies at University level
• University teaching experience in at least two of the following Development Studies areas of specialty; Development Economics; Project Management; International Development
• Proven track record of supervising postgraduate research students
• At least 5 journal articles in accredited journals
• Proven track record of research and publishing with reputable publishers
• Proven record of mentoring junior staff
• Proven record or ability to source funds for research
Senior Lecturer
• PhD in Development Studies
• Background qualification in Development Studies at MA Level
• At least Six Years of teaching Development Studies at University Level
• University teaching experience in at least two of the following Development Studies areas of specialty; Development Economics; Project Management; International Development
• Proven track record of supervising postgraduate research students
• Proven track record of research and publishing with reputable publishers, and in accredited journals
Lecturer
• PhD in Development Studies
• Background qualification in Development Studies at MA Level
• At least Two Years of teaching Development Studies at University Level
• University teaching experience in at least two of the following Development Studies areas of specialty; Development Economics; Project Management; International Development
• Evidence of publishing in reputable journals
Duties and Responsibilities
• Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise undergraduate research projects and postgraduate dissertations
• Participate in the research programs of the Department/Faculty
• Carry out teaching and conduct research in his/her area of expertise
• Assume administrative duties if required to
• Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post
Remuneration
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience
Employment Type
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for Locals, and Two Years Contract for Non-Locals with a possibility of renewal
