Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Associate Professor
- PhD in Development Studies
- Background qualification in Development Studies at MA level
- At least six years of teaching Development Studies at university level
- University teaching experience in at least two of the following Development Studies areas of specialty: Development Economics; Project Management; International Development
- Proven track record of supervising postgraduate research students
- At least five (5) journal articles in accredited journals
- Proven track record of research and publishing with reputable publishers
- Proven record of mentoring junior staff
- Proven record or ability to source funds for research
Senior Lecturer
- PhD in Development Studies
- Background qualification in Development Studies at MA level
- At least six years of teaching Development Studies at university level
- University teaching experience in at least two of the following Development Studies areas of specialty: Development Economics; Project Management; International Development
- Proven track record of supervising postgraduate research students
- Proven track record of research and publishing with reputable publishers and in accredited journals
Lecturer
- PhD in Development Studies
- Background qualification in Development Studies at MA level
- At least two years of teaching Development Studies at university level
- University teaching experience in at least two of the following Development Studies areas of specialty: Development Economics; Project Management; International Development
- Evidence of publishing in reputable journals
Duties and Responsibilities
- Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise undergraduate research projects and postgraduate dissertations
- Participate in the research programmes of the Department/Faculty
- Carry out teaching and conduct research in his/her area of expertise
- Assume administrative duties if required to
- Undertake any other reasonable duties appropriate to the post
Remuneration
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment Type
Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for locals, and two (2) years contract for non-locals with a possibility of renewal.
