Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- A PhD in Chemistry Education
- Proven record of research demonstrated through journal articles, book chapters, conferences, and seminar presentations in relevant areas
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience teaching relevant courses in a higher education institution, preferably on a full-time basis
- Experience in research supervision in the relevant area will be an added advantage
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience teaching Chemistry at school level
- Demonstrable potential and capacity to initiate projects and activities relevant to the teaching and learning of Chemistry Education
Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and evaluate programmes and courses
- Teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise research at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise teaching practice
- Conduct research and present papers at national, regional, and international conferences and forums
- Undertake research and publish in the area of specialisation
- Engage in community service
- Perform any other duties as required by the Department and Faculty
Remuneration
The University offers salaries and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Employment Type
- Permanent and pensionable/gratuitable terms for local candidates
- Two (2) year contract for non-locals, with the possibility of renewal
